As a Tractor Electrical System Integration Engineer you will support the design and development of the tractor electrical / electronic systems and software for the CCH (Cash Crop High) & 4WD tractor platforms with specific accountability for system architecture and specifications, electrical components, and electrical system integration for new and current product tractor programs.
Electrical systems interface between the Platform Engineering team and the Vehicle Electronics team.
Develop system requirements / specifications for assigned sub-systems consistent with program and central engineering objectives. Generate and maintain tractor system diagrams and electrical component requirements.
Communicate with other vehicle platforms to coordinate system requirements to assure functional commonality and component reuse.
Conduct design analysis on components, vehicle systems and / or software architectures to verify requirements / specifications can be achieved. This can include investigating HW I/O, wire harnessing, controller software, and mechanical subsystems.
Lead system design reviews, safety / hazard analysis, and DFMEAs. Ensure designs meet homologation and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to concept, design, and validate electrical systems and components that meet performance and reliability requirements.
Investigate field concerns and warranty claims for both prototype and current product, providing design solutions to address failures.
Support field testing and trouble-shooting of products and systems performed by field staff when necessary.
Support Product Validation Engineers as they conduct functional and performance testing.
Assist in the creation of data and documentation for major milestone review presentations with management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical with Controls experience, to include exposure or experience, through coursework, related to Embedded Electronic Systems and Controls.
3 plus years product development experience with emphasis on electrical systems and/or electrical component design.
The ideal Candidate will have:
Experience with Electro-Hydraulic Control Systems and Model Based Embedded System design.
Functional knowledge of CANBUS systems, SAEJ1939 and ISO 11783 communications.
General knowledge of Ag tractor and/or off-road vehicle design and operation.
General agricultural industry knowledge.
Able to interpret vehicle schematics and electrical component data sheets.
Able to work under minimal supervision but have the ability to recognize issues that need to be escalated.
Working knowledge of office computer applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written).
