The Hydraulic Technical Program Manager is responsible for the Program Management of hydraulic activities on tractor and crop production new product development and/or current production maintenance programs. The candidate will lead and manage cross-functional engineering development teams for new development, cost reduction and product improvement programs in support of Vehicle Platform Requirements and Commercial Strategic Product Plans. Additionally, they will coordinate the overall program deliverables and milestones for product development programs. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience in delivering complete hydraulic systems and/or components to internal and/or external customers.


Assisting the Tractor and Crop Production Hydraulics Engineering Manager in evaluating engineering, manufacturing, and marketing information to develop product plans that are consistent with customer requirements and product line objectives. Providing technical / managerial leadership to explore and champion cost reduction target achievement and product improvement programs. Facilitating and guiding activities of a cross functional product development team in order to achieve program objectives defined by Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and After-sales groups. Facilitating development of investments, timing plans, risk assessments & mitigation plans for assigned programs.


Facilitating program core team meetings, documents meeting minutes and tracks actions to closure. Preparing project documentation, monthly reports and leads preparation of data for program milestone reviews. Identifying, researching and resolving cross-functional team performance issues to ensure program objectives are achieved.


Coordinating technology sharing within the hydraulic/pneumatic department. Maintaining hydraulic/pneumatic department collaboration tools. Remaining current on engineering and agricultural technological developments and evolving field practices through field contacts/visits, attending meetings and membership in technical societies


The qualified candidate will have experience with the following:

BS degree in Engineering or Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic) is required

Minimum of 5 years of relevant product development engineering experience (i.e. hydraulics, components, vehicle systems)

Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing multiple small, to large projects, through the development life-cycle, from cradle to grave within a cross functional engineering organization.


The preferred candidate will have experience with the following:
Demonstrated focus on customer satisfaction

Project Management Certification

Previous experience with Agricultural hydraulic systems and components

Previous experience with electrohydraulic systems, including electronic hardware and software

Experience in the area of Precision Farming and Machine automation

Experience or knowledge of the Global Product Development Process

Knowledge of Agile project management methods a plus

Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work successfully in a strong cross-functional team or matrix engineering environment.

Independent thinking in order to resolve issues.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Experience in mechatronics systems, construction equipment or agriculture equipment and Agricultural or off-highway equipment product development

Ability to use and understand network diagrams and MS project to develop and manage projects through their life cycle.

MS office suite of software proficiency (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project).

Experience using problem solving tools such as 5 Why / 8 Discipline / 7 Discipline templates
