We are actively seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Saskatoon.  Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will develop and implement quality assurance programs and procedures to assure conformance of manufactured components and finished products to establish specifications and quality standards.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Develops and implements programs to establish and maintain quality standards of existing products and services, as well as developing programs to focus employees on quality improvement.
  • Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 family of standards), quality audits/review, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc.)
  • Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.
  • Identify and report problems which occur in the manufacture of the product, including investigating quality problems, determining source of problem and taking necessary steps to assure corrective action.
  • Analyze field failure reports and returned parts to determine source of error and initiate appropriate corrective action to preclude recurrence.
  • Review Engineering releases for tolerances as related to the manufacture and inspection of the product, including reviewing blueprints and working with Engineering personnel on revising designs to simplify manufacturing and /or inspection.
  • Keeping quality assurance Manager and inspectors informed of engineering changes.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager with the development and procurement of inspection tooling.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs which assure or improve existing product quality.
  • Provide quality assurance support and input to production, manufacturing engineering, suppliers and product engineering programs.


The qualified candidate will have:

  • BS Degree in Engineering is required; emphasis in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering a plus

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience, or Ag. machinery engineering experience, with a knowledge of Quality/lean manufacturing tools related to a working understanding of the prep, weld, paint and assembly processes.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which are light physical effort in handling tools and making inspection set-ups. Equivalent to occasionally exerting average effort, some limited heavy effort
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office
  • A working knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures and inspection methods
  • Strong organizational skills, extremely self-motivated, and able to work well in a team setting
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
