The Hydraulic Design Engineer supports the Tractor and Implement platforms including new product development, current product quality and reliability and cost reduction projects. This individual will report into a Hydraulics & Pneumatics group.


Design, development and detailing of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems, including electro-hydraulic and mechanical components and systems for tractor and implements. Generating new tractor hydraulic system design concepts that will improve vehicle performance, value to the customer or increases number of features. Creating engineering specifications for new hydraulic and pneumatic components or systems and working closely with suppliers during the development and validation phase.


Incorporating engineering standards, methodologies and CNH Industrial global product development processes into daily work tasks. Utilizing Creo, TeamCenter, Automation Studio and other relevant software to create and develop hydraulic system designs and layouts. Assessing and mitigating design risks by scheduling and organizing design reviews and DFMEA's.


Developing plans to achieve cost and reliability targets of components and systems. Contributing to the overall cost reduction and profitability related to component design of new and existing products. Proposing new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents and opportunities for improvement. Ensuring completion of engineering activities within project objectives and timeline. Supporting management in the completion of projects and ability to work under minimal supervision.


The qualified candidate will have:


Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Minimum of 5 years of hydraulic engineering experience specifically Agriculture or Off Highway Equipment

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 10%


The ideal candidate will have:


Demonstrated Hydraulic engineering experience specifically on Agricultural or other Off-Highway Products.

Knowledge of Ag tractors and Ag Implements like Planters and Seeders is a plus

Experience working on mobile hydraulic component and system design, including electro-hydraulic systems.

Demonstrated ability and interest to conduct technical hands-on, and analytical tasks

Experience with 3D CAD-software (ProE/Creo preferred), simulation software (Matlab/Simulink, AmeSim, Automation Studio) is desired, BoM systems

Experience on product development from concept creation to design and validation to release

Demonstrated ability to work with cross discipline teams as well as being a strong individual contributor.

Demonstrated root-cause identification and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of project management

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
