We are currently seeking a Production Planning Specialist to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating industrial responsibilities related to supply chain management, inventory management and manufacturing operating plans (MOPs) for five North America manufacturing plants plus be backup on other North America manufacturing sites.


  • Coordinate with Purchasing to resolve material availability issues to prevent impact on OKOL, OKTS and ship targets.
    • Support plants in investigation of alternative solutions to resolve material shortages and understanding impact.
    • Gather requirements from the plants and use the available systems such as MiPlan to provide centralized reports on priorities and run without dates.
    • Work directly with the suppliers, when needed to help resolve the material supply issues.
    • Investigate and resolve root cause issues creating material shortages in order to reduce/eliminate risk to OKOL.
    • Monitor and manage constrained material and problem suppliers. Perform allocation activity as needed for constrained material.
  • Coordinate the Industrial portion of S&OP planning process including…
    • Review with Commercial potential changes in requirements to give the plants visibility of changes needed
    • Provide the Master Schedulers management’s direction that need to be implemented in the MOP’s
    • Review initial drafts of the MOP’s to make sure they meet managements direction
    • Present the MOP’s to Management for their approval
    • Support the order collection process and escalate to Management when there are order shortages
    • Monitor the schedule coherence to the objectives set in the S&OP process. Investigate serious deviations from the objectives and support the plants to get them back on track to the objectives
  • Lead weekly Inventory Management calls with the Plants.
    • Support inventory reduction projects. 
    • Identify key areas for safety stock to increase flexibility.
    • Support the budget and Forecast process for inventory.



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Master Scheduling, Production Control, Purchasing, Logistics or Materials Management


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast paced, time constrained environment
  • Self- starter, demonstrates initiative and commitment.
  • Adept using plant MRP systems, AOM, Scheduling module in Proplanner and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in collaboration with external vendors to optimize supply and resolve supply issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively work cross functionally in a matrix organization and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Availability to travel as needed up to 30% domestically or internationally as required
