We are currently seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join our team in Grand Island.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, analyzing and assisting in all traditional Manufacturing Engineering activities, such as processing new components into the manufacturing systems, supporting cost reduction programs, advising the Engineering Change Management Board, developing new process justification and participating in new model launches while supporting Lean Manufacturing techniques. The successful candidates must possess the skills necessary to serve as a team leader and participant in a team environment. In addition, you must have the demonstrated ability to provide production support in areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, engineering problem solving, and cost reduction. Assigned responsibilities may include assembly, welding, robotics, and tooling and fixture design and acquisition, and include the processing of new parts and assemblies into Bills of Material.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish methods and standards for new/changed parts. Work closely with design engineering and plant operations in developing processes.  Assist in the development of new products with manufacturing requirements as part of the development process.
  • Analyze, document, investigate and implement corrections for process failures; and initiate and implement cost reductions.
  • Provide leadership and work with other functions to help the plant meet goals in safety, quality, ISO standard certification, schedule performance, inventory management and cost management.  Other duties may include the need to establish economical manufacturing routings for a wide range of materials including castings and weldments.
  • Develop and implement capital projects to improve material flow, reduce floor space requirements, or reduce costs. Assist in the development of justification for new capital equipment and manage the installation and startup of the new equipment.
  • Provide support and participate in new product launch teams.
  • Select correct tooling for new processes. Lead or assist in the design of new or revised tooling to be used in all phases of the manufacturing process, including fabrication, welding, and assembly.
  • Provide production support in areas of safety, quality, throughput improvement, line balancing, tooling engineering, inventory management, and cost optimization.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Agricultural or Mechanical) 

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years in a manufacturing related engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in Creo preferred
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience.
