This Display Systems Engineer creates common machine electronic system designs across CNHi's family of Displays for both Agricultural and Construction equipment product lines. As a Displays Vehicle Application Systems Engineer, you will be the principal interface between Displays Vehicle Application team and cross functional teams including Vehicle Integration team and Precision Solution and Telematics team to coordinate the development and implementation of Displays Vehicle Application utilizing a Systems Engineering approach. This also includes collaboration with CNHi internal teams (Network and Architecture) to ensure the system is architected, developed in an efficient manner minimizing cost and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the timely, efficient, and cost-effective design of CNHi's display and cluster products.
  • Develop requirements and associated system architecture, system designs, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Interface with the Vehicle Integration Engineers to ensure that the Displays are successfully integrated into the target vehicle electrical systems.
  • Harmonize the UI/UX HMI designs with the Display component software design.
  • Support software implementation and integration working directly with the Software Engineering team.
  • Support product validation and production, working with Test Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Technical Publication groups.
  • Work with the Safety Engineer to fulfill the necessary Functional Safety requirements (ISO25119).
  • Support the Hardware Component Engineer with system integration and design validation (DV) issues.
  • Work with the Network Architecture team to ensure that the displays and clusters meet all applicable protocol standards and performance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop root cause through hardware and software failure analysis and testing. Support plants, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues.
  • Support the Project Manager(s) with System Engineering estimates and resource planning.
  • Actively assist the Project Manager with managing external supplier(s) to ensure that their deliverables meet the project requirements and overall CNHi needs.
  • Develop future roadmaps maximizing design commonality for Display and Cluster products across all vehicle product lines.
  • Conduct work item reviews with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Incorporate and encourage the use of central standards, methodologies, and processes into the Engineering team's daily work tasks.
  • Actively communicate with external suppliers and internal customers regarding product development issues.

Qualifications

The Qualified Candidate will have:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Embedded Systems or Software design.
  • Minimum 2 years of Requirements Management skills.
  • Minimum 1-year experience with CAN networking 


Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Product development experience of Instrument Clusters, Displays and HMI's.
  • Extensive knowledge of in-vehicle communications architectures and protocols (e.g. CAN, LIN, J1939, ISOBUS, XCP, UDS, KWP2000, FlexRay, etc.).
  • Experience using Requirements Management tools such as Polarion or DOORS.
  • Experience with DFMEAs.
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety standards (e.g. ISO 26262, 25119, 13849).
  • Experience with UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience with Test design and development methodologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining organization wide engineering standards and processes.
  • Experience with Hardware design.
  • Understanding of programming in C, C++, or Java code, and structured software.
  • Experience using Model Based Development design using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded coder.
  • Understanding of Virtual prototyping / MIL / SIL / HIL principles.
  • Experience with network design and analysis tools such as Vector PREEvision, CANAlyzer, CANoe, and CANdela.
  • Understanding of Internet communications protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet.
  • Experience with V-Model (SPICE, CMMi) and Agile (Scrum) Development Processes.
  • Experience with issue tracking and workflow tools such as Polarion, Bugzilla, ClearQuest, Trac, etc.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Subversion, SVN, Clearcase, Git, etc.
  • Experience with vehicle calibration using a tool such as ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, or dSPACE ControlDesk.
  • Project Management skills and experience.
  • Experience in interfacing with external suppliers
  • Experience Off-Highway, Automotive, or Commercial vehicle industry
