Reporting to the Maintenance Manager this position supervises all repair, training, budgeting, and other maintenance activities required for the successful and efficient operation of a facility. Provides leadership, direction, and control over all related functions in compliance with Corporate, Plant, and Department policies and objectives.


  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to and enforcing CNH safety programs, policies and regulations.
  • Supervises and directs hourly employees in the production of parts, components and finished products to meet established productivity targets and when missing these targets to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Prioritizes repair calls, communicates delays or complications, clearly defines repair requirements, and maintains inventory of replacement spare parts.
  • Schedules sub-contracted work when necessary and communicates both formally and informally to ensure continuity of maintenance support.
  • Develops and administers comprehensive maintenance budget for the plant or facility, taking into account cost-savings opportunities.
  • Communicates current issues to plant personnel (e.g., personal productivity, cost reduction, safety, customer service).
  • Holds regular safety meetings and requires that safety devices be used at all times by personnel.
  • Develops and implements an effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Administers operating budgets and monitors results to assure departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain required levels of inventory and develop and implement corrective action plans when required.
  • Perform continuous improvement activities aimed at improving safety, efficiency, quality and costs.
  • Develops and maintains positive employee relations within the guidelines of company policy.
  • Human resource activities such as employee selection, pay administration, employee counseling, training, performance reviews, discipline for hourly employees, and the administration of policies and agreements.
  • Implements company strategies and process change at the operational level of the organization.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or HS/GED with equivalent combination of education and 5 years of work experience may be considered.
  • 1+ year previous supervision and leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of materials, tooling, machine tools, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to analyze and utilize data dealing with budgets and departmental objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Control systems.
  • Working knowledge of a safety management programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in data base software, project software, Cad/cam software, and Industrial Engineering Processes are all considered assets.
  • Experience and knowledge of using root cause analysis tools like 5W1H, 5Why and 4M for machine breakdowns will be considered an asset.
  • Cross-functional experience (Quality, Materials, Engineering, Human Resources, Safety) will be considered an asset.
  • Experience participating and leading Continuous Improvement activities is considered an asset.
