We are currently seeking a Production Planner -- Fabrication to join our team in Racine, WI. Reporting to the Area Manager for the Grey Iron Machine Shop, this position is responsible for providing detailed manufacturing schedules within the established master production schedule in order to meet production schedule, quality, inventory, cost and delivery objectives.
Position is responsible for planning manufacturing orders from the master production schedule for three shift grey iron machine shop.
Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering and enforcing CNH safety programs, policies and regulations.
Efficiently and effectively schedule three shift machine shop to meet customer order requirements, by means of capacity planning e.g. the systematic planning and release of manufacturing work orders. Schedule, contact and expedite parts from internal work centers.
Work with Production Supervisors across three shifts to develop and implement contingency plans when necessary and keep management informed of actions being taken.
Perform lot sizing and load leveling solutions to achieve efficient and effective workflow, minimize material handling, and reduce total costs. Identify capacity constraints and recommend contingency plans in a timely manner to address to minimize impact to production schedule.
Analyze and resolve critical planning issues in order to meet the production schedule, quality, inventory, cost and delivery objectives. Close completed orders accurately and timely to reflect credible data, satisfy data collection requirements, measures and performance reporting.
Utilize information system tools to maintain part number data-element integrity within the plant's planning information system databases. Analyze and correct, or facilitate the correction of, discrepancies, paperwork or inventory problems to maintain parts flow and improve inventory accuracy.
Liaise with various departments to ensure timely execution of new product launches in parallel with current production. Initiates and supports continuous improvement of operational processes and support activities.
The qualified candidate will have: A Bachelor's Degree is required; Business, Operations Management or Engineering majors preferred.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing planning position.
Working knowledge of Manufacturing Control systems, shop planning procedures and physical plant layout.
Knowledge of line scheduling, rates of production, machines, tooling, set-ups, unit variations, orders and speeds of operation, capacities, sheets, blueprints, alternative processes.
Project management experience.
Previous experience in MRP/ERP systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes.
Previous experience with company products, sources of supply.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
