Interaction between cloud/vehicle is going to dramatically increase in the next years. CNHI is looking for an expert candidate to help drive device communications from vehicle to cloud and vehicle to vehicle, Including the optimization of stream data transfer and file transfer to the cloud for our customer solutions. This role will be expected to execute Proof of Concepts (POC’s) and analyze the outcomes to facilitate the development of overall system strategies





  • Standardization of vehicle middleware including middleware services provided to the applications
  • Oversee implementation of data prioritization for control systems, and visualization
  • Identification of the most effective transmission protocol with clever data management vs. bandwidth availability to send to cloud lossy data as well non-lossy data with special attention to conditions of loss of data connectivity (so including local cashing, prioritization of deliveries, data stacking, etc.).
  • Provide help on identification the best File Transfer SW protocol solution within current SW architecture as well as support identification of incremental steps to move from current situation to the desired long term V2X protocols and data management
  • Support technical projects to architect V2X data communication with special attention to how the cloud interacts with the vehicle.
  • Securing the definition of a transparent policy for data packeting and un-packeting between vehicle to cloud and final data consumer
  • Understand device side data packeting (eg. device PGN, CAN database), and data management at the very end, securing data translation (from raw data to physical values) accordingly
  • Executing autonomously Proof Of Concept of any suggested solution, putting when needed his/her hand in the SW (or detailed monitoring SW engineers activities) to finalize the POC.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of software engineering, cloud technologies and data engineering, to define and target architectures, patterns and processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with architects and business leaders.
  • Develop multi-year product roadmaps, provide the vision and work with individual architects to translate this into a tactical engineering blueprint.
  • Influence and establish best engineering practices through solid design decisions, processes and tools. Set goals, strategies, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple technologies


Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or Engineering
  • 3+ years experience on vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to cloud data transmission architecture definition, with proven exposure on supporting design from concept to production.
  • 5+ years experience architecting complex device solutions
  • Demonstrated success in creating the highly technical architecture
  • Advanced-level knowledge of 3 or more of the following technologies
    • RTOS
    • Edgex Foundry
    • security and privacy
    • Stream Processing
    • Microservices
    • APIs
  • 3+ years leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development life cycle.
  • Experience streaming data to/from a cloud IoT platform in mobile connected and disconnected scenarios
  • Expert level knowledge of architectural principles and design patterns
  • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in one or more of the following: Python, C++, Go, SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of application, server, and network security and compliance requirements such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Candidate can reside anywhere in the US

Preferred Knowledge

  • Experience in one or more specific IoT / embedded / M2M industry (i.e. precision farming, home automation, business automation, health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc.)
  • ROS2-DDS, Nav2, Object Analysis, and Gazebo simulations
  • Cloud based IoT platforms, preferred: MS Azure IoT cloud services and IoT communications SDK’s
  • Linux, RTOS, other IoT based operating systems
  • Experience with Geo-Temporal data sets, Ag specific would be highly favored
  • EdgeX Foundry
  • Container technologies and orchestration (Kubernetes (K3’s), Docker, LXC)
  • CI/CD pipeline tooling
  • Experience with IoT devices from bare metal to the user space software applications
  • Strong on device, and cloud data management experience in data models, databases SQL and NoSQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices
