Position Summary:


The basic function of a Product Validation Engineer is to plan, conduct and document functional, performance, durability and reliability evaluations related to systems, subsystems and full vehicle analysis of seeding equipment integrated with the Product Development process. The position will focus on the validation of the electrical control systems of the seeding equipment, including both hardware and software validation. The position will provide the opportunity to contribute to the design of the electronic systems for seeding equipment.

As part of an agile product development team this position will be focused on product validation, but responsibilities include product design as required within a given project.




Plan, set-up, operate, troubleshoot and report on vehicle systems while testing in both lab and field environments.


Conducts root cause analyses of in-service problems, provides test reports and other technical documentation of issues and observations.


Debugs and troubleshoots failed electronic, mechanical and software components.


Compiles and maintains test-related documentation including test plans, procedures, results, reports, timelines, etc.


Analyzes and evaluates how to improve system and/or equipment’s functionality/durability under continued operation, maintenance and unexpected change.


Collaborates closely with design engineers on development of test requirements and plans. Contribute to design work in conjunction with the electronic systems engineer.


Creates product designs including drawings and schematics for electrical and/or mechanical systems depending on experience and background.




Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, Computer or Electronic Systems Engineering.



Preferred Qualifications:


The ideal Candidate will have:


1 plus years of experience in product validation or electronic design and electronic systems controls


Strong problem-solving skills and Root Cause Analysis


Experience in the use of sensors (hydraulic, electrical, accelerometer, etc.) and data acquisition systems


Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in new global processes and systems.


Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) issues, problems, and observations of work being performed to both technical and non-technical audiences


Demonstrated ability to work with cross discipline teams as well as being a strong individual contributor.


A basic understanding of mechanical and hydraulic vehicle systems.


Ability to work with minimal supervision managing multiple projects and tasks


Proven communication skills across multiple levels and work groups


Can work in a high-pace data-driven environment.


Experience with automotive or agricultural wiring harnesses and electrical systems would be considered an asset.


Strong background in electronic design/test/diagnostics


Experience with GPS guidance and CAN bus systems.


Farming experience would be considered an asset.
