With our Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, Case and New Holland Construction, and FPT Industrial brands, and comprehensive solutions for financing and aftermarket services, we’re driven to meet the needs of our customers.

The Automation Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing algorithms that generate machine path plans and action points that run in real-time on embedded platforms, and off-line on the cloud/central computing systems. The successful applicant will be specifying, designing, and testing vehicle mission planning software per CNH Industrial coding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop rules-based, reward/cost-based and hybrid algorithms
  • Modular software architecture designs and software commonality for re-use where possible
  • Stay up to date on planning & optimization technology developments and advancements as they apply to the technologies that we will use and help in the development of future concepts in the mission planning field
  • Responsible for the software development lifecycle activities using programming skills (e.g. C/C++/Python for off-line targets and C/C++/Matlab Simulink for embedded targets)
  • Develop path/motion/action planning algorithms and decision structures for autonomous driving in off-highway applications
  • Contribute to requirements definition, concept designs, and employ analytical design methods in pursuit of functional/performance improvements according to planned course of action consistent with project/product objectives
  • Responsible for the quality, reliability, and efficiency of engineering outputs, including testing, validation, verification and developing corrective procedures when necessary
