As the Procurement and Indirect purchasing Manager, you will act as Purchasing representative within the FPT North America organization to fully sourcing decisions, plan and facilitate timely execution of Sourcing and Resourcing plans, ensure that customer supply needs are satisfied, and manage all indirect purchasing needs of the Local FPT Brand functions.


This is a position for a person with working knowledge of manufacturing MRP systems and processes as well as strong leadership and communication skills. This position requires the ability to act quickly and decisively in making tough calls within a multifunctional team and proactively identifying problems and mitigating risks.


Using standardized purchasing tools, purchase indirect materials and services which are used to support FPT’s business. In our Indirect Purchasing department there are two types of Indirect goods and services: MRO – goods and services required to support our manufacturing and depot operations locations; and General and Administrative goods and services that are required to support our people and infrastructure.



  • Coordinate sourcing and resourcing plans with manufacturing groups and drive implementation in order to help achieve Purchasing Department's financial targets, in both Direct and Indirect materials.
  • Support manufacturing, purchasing, and supplier quality groups with identifying all supplier-related potential risks to monthly OK to Ship targets.
  • Develop successful mitigation plans to overcome risks within supply base performance.
  • Proactively identify any supplier whose key metrics on delivery performance indicates a deterioration in performance.
  • Engage with other FPT global resources and the supply base to address the deterioration of supply performance by implementing a successful recovery plan.
  • Perform supplier capacity analysis to identify potential supply base risks for future manufacturing scenarios.
  • For assigned commodities, implements supply base management strategies that lead to the lowest total cost in terms of quality, lead time, delivery, service and unit cost. Supports the selection of suppliers, negotiates and maintains performance to expectations plus drives supplier continuous improvement.
  • Under supervision, assist in the development and implementation of supplier strategies that will drive commodity improvements and quality cost and delivery.
  • Negotiates and implements cost savings to meet or exceed material cost and total cost reduction objectives.
  • Forecasts/reports monthly performance of material economics/cost saving objectives; advises management of risks/opportunities.
  • Position pays $68,000-$85,000


  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and a minimum 6 years related work experience in the areas of Manufacturing, Purchasing or Supply Chain.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
