**This position can be located in Fargo, ND / Wichita, KS / Burlington, IA**

 

The CE Innovation Engineer will support CNHI's Construction Equipment Innovation Engineering activities.

Lead and execute a group of innovation projects focus on automation systems, electrification, alternative fuel, high efficiency hydraulic systems, alternative driveline, and digitalization. Each project will require preparing and completing system requirements, leading design reviews and technical review with suppliers, FMEA, HARA, clearly define and evaluate component and system costs versus achieved functionality. Performance check on the vehicles defining test procedures, if required, and the corrective actions to achieve the results, getting the concept proven based on the work defined at the beginning of the project.

CE Innovation Engineer will have the chance to leverage a small team of project leaders, but he will be responsible for the activity performed from the team.

Willing to travel to work closely with the different CE Engineering locations where the projects will be carried out, gaining product and functional experience and assisting experimental test of the new system developed, coordinating also the communication with Global Product Leaders.

Connect with the Platform engineering teams to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion following established design process. The I develop, maintain, and release vital system specifications and documentation, coordinating the allocated resources to CE Innovation projects assigned, leading project timing and budget in coordination with CE Innovation Manager.

Responsible for developing and maintaining the CE Innovation roadmaps and all the documentation required to submit a program approval following the Innovation guidelines, including the annual budget preparation for the whole CE Innovation activities in cooperation with the CE Innovation Manager.

This position will report to the CE Innovation Manager but will collaborate with CE PD&E Leaders, CE Product Platforms and Components Product Lines to keep them updated on status of the activities.

Responsibilities

Work as CE Innovation engineer by developing innovative, functional features and systems that address future Platform needs.

An extensive amount of independent thinking is required to generate new insights (IP is a core part of project management into Innovation team).

Review and understand technologies and trends that will influence medium term and long-term product plans.

Coordinate dedicated resources for each project, defining project work with reference PL and CPL, timing, resources and budget required.

Coordinate and drive system requirements definition, designing, prototype and testing phases.

Guide interns from university for those activities related to the projects and new investigations.

Update the related management tools (TcAE, .ppt, CTS, PROMIS...) and monthly reports

Guarantee that all the required project documents and information are properly updated, collected and available for CE business partners.

Transfer features and technologies to the CE Platforms.

Share ideas for continuous improvements on the CE products and on standard methodologies for the team (tool, electronic design and control approach, sensor selection, document format).

Coordinate a team of multi-discipline engineers in multiple locations and different working group to complete projects

 

Keep people involved motivated, pushing them to think out of the box

 

Provide local and remote field site support/analysis for own project and help others

 

Maintain an open, growth mindset

 

Respect diversity and be inclusive to divergent opinions to create unique solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Electrical Engineering or related
  • 1+ years experience leading R&D projects
  • 5+ years experience in Construction Equipment / Off-highway machinery engineering
