Responsibilities

The Current Product Engineer for 4WD Tractors is responsible for growing customer satisfaction by resolving issues affecting current production tractors. This includes the application of 7-step problem solving methodology to analyze data, determine root cause and implement solutions that improve warranty, improve manufacturing, reduce cost, or add features.

Responsibilities:

Develop and support the execution of current product improvement plans consistent with meeting product line objectives and timelines.

 

Develop designs, layouts, and drawings for current product maintenance, quality improvement, cost reductions, improvement, and manufacturing issue resolution support.

 

Build test requests and shop work orders, resolve field product integrity reports (PIR's), and track progress.

 

Use appropriate engineering techniques and considerations of manufacturing processes and technology to produce innovative and efficient design solutions considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards.

 

Support timely manufacturing issue resolution through direct interaction with plant and manufacturing personnel supporting Design for Manufacturability requirements.

 

Work effectively with Supplier Quality/Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements.

 

Track costs of completed designs with Product Development Purchasing and Product Cost Management teams.

 

Create 3D models using Pro/E Creo, generate engineering drawings following company standards, and write engineering change orders.

 

This position pays $75,000 to $102,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in mechanical, agricultural, automotive and/or electrical engineering disciplines.

 

3 plus years of work experience in on-road or off-road vehicle product development.

 

1 plus years of experience using 3D CAD software.

 

Must have the ability to travel up to 10%.

 

 

The ideal Candidate will have:

 

Knowledge of farming applications, agronomic practices, and general farm machinery operation.

 

Strong time and priority management skills with the ability to manage numerous activities and set clear objectives and deliverables.

 

Ability to work with a multi-functional team and effectively communicate issues, ideas, concepts, and solutions with internal customers, outside suppliers, and management.

 

Leadership skills with the proven track record to drive activities to completion.

 

Ability to influence others, regardless of position or organizational boundaries, drive collaboration, and hold others accountable.

 

Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills.

 

Experience and/or knowledge of electrical systems and components.

 

Demonstrated knowledge of 7-step problem solving methodology.

 

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
