This position will be responsible for development and integration of electrified drivetrain algorithm control strategies. Responsibilities will include development, review and testing of software algorithm architectural design and detailed software unit features. This position works closely with the Integration, Electrical, Software and Simulation teams as well as Test Lab and Vehicle groups in the design and development of advanced control systems.


  • Develops electrical drivetrain system controls algorithm for new hybrid drivetrain and BEV projects
  • Responsible for identifying the most efficient controls strategy to manage multiple energy flows entering the electrified drivetrain
  • Support creation of software and embedded control unit hardware requirements documentation and participate in software/hardware requirements reviews.
  • Develop and review software architectural design based on software and hardware requirements and ensure traceability back to requirements.
  • Develop controls algorithm for software unit feature designs based on architectural design and software requirements.
  • Develop Model-In-Loop test plans to verify unit design implementation, perform MIL test and document results. Ensure complete unit design test coverage and traceability.
  • Develop Software description documentation to describe overall software architectural design and unit software feature designs.
  • Delivers work in an efficient and timely manner in completion of specific project milestones
  • Interfaces with software engineering and other departments to facilitate the development process of electrified drivetrain
  • Provides team progress updates to direct manager as needed.
  • Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies, and global product development processes in engineering team’s daily work. Practice software development lifecycle methodologies including ISO-26262
  • Interfaces with Electrification Technology engineering team for HV/LV system performance & integration
  • Fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and product opportunities for improvement
  • Embraces Innovation mindset, encourages new technology and is creative
  • This position pays $93,500 to $125,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another relevant discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with developing model based or code based embedded controls algorithm for automotive electronics, electrified powertrain preferred, in a production environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in linear controls (classical and state space)/system engineering
  • Excellent proficiency in modern algorithm development and analysis tools, i.e. Matlab/Simulink for development and testing of software architecture and unit models.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time
