As the Technical Program Engineering Lead for Battery Systems, you will provide program management oversight for the development of battery systems for products in the Agricultural and Construction Industries. You will define and manage project plans, both internal and external, and ensure the completion of design, build, test and delivery activities within the product development process. The right candidate will be responsible for engineering deliverables associated for energy storage systems while meeting targets for cost, quality and timing.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

 

  • Create effective project plans and manage engineering teams towards the timely completion of all deliverables
  • Define and manage battery pack performance targets for cost, quality, timing and mass related to pack components and complete assemblies
  • Create and manage engineering bill of material, associated changes and coordinate with cross functional groups (i.e., purchasing, manufacturing, finance)
  • Active member of trade study teams in support of program strategies and deliverables
  • Develop project presentations and conduct regular program status reviews for senior management
  • Provide project work coordination, team management, task assignment and readiness evaluation
  • Provide project risk assessments and associated mitigation plans
  • Work closely with the battery team to provide leadership direction for cross functional activities
  • Lead the creation of all documentation associated with outside engineering services (SOW’s) and sourcing activities
  • Lead global engineering coordination as required for battery project planning and execution
  • Develop strong lines of communication with lead engineers and cross functional team members to stay in tune with project changes
  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies for program management tools and methodologies
  • Provide direction/mentorship to engineering team members to drive effective product development processes
  • This role pays between $115,000-$145,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5 plus years of technical project management experience in the electric vehicle industry
  • Demonstrated leadership in high value automotive and/or commercial vehicle programs
  • Deep understanding of OEM product development cycle
  • Project management and presentation skills
  • Experience working with/for OEM’s and component suppliers
  • Excellent team management, risk assessment and leadership skills
  • Skilled at handling project technical issues and finding creative ways to solve them
  • Ability to develop effective technical plans based on program requirements
  • Proven strength in understanding complex systems
  • Ability to remain agile and reacts quickly to program changes
  • Skilled in typical program management tools (i.e., MS-Word, Excel, Project, JIRA)
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in English
  • Deep experience with cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proactive behaviors
  • Ability to set clear objectives and deliverables, hold others accountable and influence others, regardless of position power or organization boundaries
  • Detail-oriented individual with the ability to extract and understand the big picture

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Agriculture and Construction domain knowledge and experience
  • MBA or advanced engineering degree
  • PMP Certified
  • Knowledge of e-powertrain components (motors, inverters, software, chargers)
  • Product design and release experience
  • Knowledge in electric vehicle certification requirements and/or process
  • Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Experience using both stage gate and Agile product development processes
