The Driveline Test-Stand Design Engineer’s primary responsibility is for the Planning, Design, and Supporting assembly of complex test stands used in driveline component and system level testing.  These test stands are used in conducting physical evaluations for the function, performance, and durability of components and driveline systems in support of Driveline Product Development.  The Test Stand Engineer interfaces regularly within a cross-functional environment; interfacing regularly with Product Validation, Design Engineering, and DA&S teams to understand test stand requirements to ensure test fixturing is robust and that loading is applied in the appropriate manner.

The position will be moved to Racine, WI location. Interim coverage will need to be provided to the Burr Ridge facility with paid travel until the move is complete. Candidates who live 50 plus miles from the Racine location would be eligible for relocation assistance.

Driveline Test Stand and Fixture Design

• Work with product validation engineers to understand test fixture requirements considering test type, test loading, cost constraints and timing.
• Design robust professional looking component and system level test stands with focus on function and safety.
• Create models and detailed engineering drawings to facilitate obtaining budgetary quotes & aiding in mechanical assembly.
• Interface with suppliers to obtain budgetary quotes, create orders for necessary components keeping within budget constraints, and follow up on receipt of material to ensure delivery to support test timing.
• Maintain database of test fixture designs for future reference.
• Provide direction & support to assembly mechanics in the proper assembly of test stands and fixturing as required.
• Quickly respond to issues identified during assembly and lead efforts to resolve.
• Provide day to day test stand support related to fixturing & equipment being used on running tests. Resolve issues encountered and provide expertise on corrective action.

Driveline Test Engineer Support

• Plan, set-up, operate, diagnose, and monitor assigned driveline component & system level tests in laboratory for CNH CE and AG equipment.
• Assist in the hands-on assembly, disassembly, and inspection of components under test.
• Provide direction to lab technicians as well as provide hands on involvement in the set-up, calibration and operation of test automation, instrumentation, data acquisition and support equipment for assigned tests.
• Collect and analyze test data.
• Communicate data with stakeholders effectively; both verbally and in writing via formal technical test reports.
• Cooperate with Tests Engineers, Design Engineers and DA&S to define if the test has passed or not.
• Position Pays $88,000 to $127,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

The qualified candidate will have:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, AG Engineering or similar degree
• 3 plus years relevant experience in mechanical component, system or fixture design

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experienced with Pro-E or similar design software
• Good computer skills with MS office suite
• Solid hands-on mechanical skills and experience
