Responsibilities

As the Principal Systems Engineer for Vehicle Electronics Architectural Deployment, you'll be responsible for guiding the implementation of a future vehicle electronics architecture across and into the entire portfolio of vehicle platforms. Success of the business is dependent on our ability to deliver on new customer features and capabilities rapidly, efficiently, and with superior quality. 

  • Participate and provide technical expertise in the architectural definition of new generation vehicle electronics
  • Definition and allocation of HW component requirements and capabilities
  • Definition and allocation of application requirements, capabilities, and HW host distribution
  • Provide technical oversight for the planning, adoption, development, deployment, and support of new architecture
  • Working with the platform and architecture leaders to manage the evolution towards the new architecture with deliberate methodology
  • Coordinate the execution of the architectural vision across and into the individual products
  • Drive common Vehicle Electronics platform adoption across the Vehicle Platform Portfolio to achieve efficiency and effective implementation
  • Partners with GPP Leaders & Program Management to communicate and educate stakeholders on Vehicle Electronics Architecture and adoption plans
  • Applies Architecture Definition for Application, Middleware, HMI, Component, Interface Management, Power, and Signal Distribution Architecture Activities that are realized in Agriculture
  • Ensure factory and customer support tooling and capabilities for production of machines with the new architecture
  • Collaborates with the Systems Engineering organization to define and evolve a unified product electronic functional, physical, and operational architectural vision and drives that vision to the marketplace
  • Ensure clear, cohesive, and robust architectural design and requirements specifications for all products in the portfolio.
  • Ensure the Quality Systems are understood, implemented, and maintained within the department.
  • Maintain effective communication with the business sector leadership team, team members and functional leadership in all activities required to design, develop and deliver the product successfully.

Position Pays $124,000 to $190,000. This position is eligible for the company bonus plan (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Expert engineer with 12+ years of career experience, with Bachelor's degree. 10+ years with Master's degree. 6+ years with PHD. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to understand business and technical requirements to lead teams around a common vision to execute
  • Proven track record in New Product Introduction
  • Extensive experience in software/hardware development and deployment
  • Experience in deployment of products and solutions through cross-functional teams in a global environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence in areas outside of direct control (product roadmap, finance, marketing, operations)
  • Comfortable in a global matrix organization, including indirect functional engagement with product development processes, quality systems and the senior leadership
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate across all levels of the organization both technical and non-technical
  • Knowledge of System Engineering and Architectural Design
