Responsibilities

The Design Engineer at CNH Industrial America LLC in New Holland, PA will be responsible for designing and developing parts, assemblies, hoses and electrical harness models for Agricultural Equipment including Self Propelled Sprayers and Floaters. The duties include: using the primary CAD Tools including Creo 2.0/ Pro-Engineer; adhering to internal standards and external industry ASME/ISO guidelines and safety standards during the product development phase; structuring and documenting the Bills of Material (BOM) in Engineering Central (EC) and creating system keys engineering features in EC; exporting the design intent and models to Team Center PDM/ PLM tool to safeguard the designs, enable the virtual review across teams and facilitate manufacturing with light weight JT model (DMU model); supporting and coordinating Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze structural integrity of components; creating test requests or work orders to validate and correlate the FEA results through testing; defining the acceptance criteria for test requests; facilitating the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA); reviewing with cross functional teams to identify failure modes in the early design stages; creating documentation, drawings and releasing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Requests (ECR); coordinating and supporting Manufacturing/Production teams in fixture development and during prototype builds; designing, developing, and routing electrical harnesses in compliance with internal routing standards and electrical packaging; implementing the common parts between various products groups in effort to contribute to cost savings; performing various engineering calculations to validate the engineering designs during product development; designing and styling the parts using advance surfacing in Creo software; introducing designs for parts and assemblies with less complex features and contributing to manufacturing cost savings; using the tools including CTS, TIMS to create test requests and work orders; collaborating with Product Safety Engineers and Industrial Design teams to develop safety, informational, warning and styling decals; collaborating with the Technical Publication team for operators manual creation; supporting product validation by providing various inputs during tests and prototype parts development; and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) as required during drawing creation and performing tolerance stack up analysis on parts and assemblies. Telecommuting permitted 3-4 times a week.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field and three years of mechanical design engineer work experience with heavy construction equipment or Agricultural equipment. The three years of experience must include at least three years of work experience with each of the following: (1) Using Creo, or Pro Engineer, and Teamcenter designing Agricultural and/or heavy construction equipment; (2) creating engineering drawings, adhering to applicable drawing standards (3) engineering change release process; (4) designing sheet metal, part components and weld structures of agricultural/ heavy equipment; (5) designing electrical cabling and harness routings, and electro mechanical components of agricultural/ heavy equipment; (6) designing castings and hood components of agricultural/heavy equipment using Advanced Surfacing; (7) working with engineering BOMs, Teamcenter and Vismockup (DMU) (8) experience working on cost reduction projects; (9) experience supporting current production and pilot/prototype build programs (10) drawing/documentation creation and applying GD&T and using tolerance stack up analysis; and (11) understanding basic vehicle structure and sub systems.
