The CNH Simulator team provides vehicle CAN and system simulation and virtualization for agriculture vehicle platforms. As a Software Engineer in Precision Agriculture, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining the CNH Simulator software initiatives. This team is developing the next generation of vehicle simulators to improve customer experience and product development.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the virtualization of vehicle computer systems, using a combination of tools such as VirtualBox, QEMU, etc. the These require a deep understanding and interest in Linux, to the level of customizing a kernel, emulation/virtualization, and debugging at the operating system and application levels.

• Debugging issues with virtualized system.
• Documentation and automation of creating and updating virtualized systems.
• Side-by-side comparisons of functionality on hardware vs virtualized systems to validate virtualization.
• Designing and implementing software applications that interact with these virtualized systems.

This position pays: $101,200 – $126,500 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Firm understanding of a typed and compiled language such as Go, C#, C, C++, Java

Preferred Qualifications
• Linux kernel development experience
• QEMU emulation/virtualization experience
• Linux development and administration – services, partition structure, networking
• Experience virtualizing hardware and software using VirtualBox and VBoxManager
• Experience virtualizing firmware services for different platforms
• Test-driven Development experience
• Experience working on enterprise software projects
• Experience using V-Model and/or Agile (Scrum) software development processes
• Experience using open-source development tools such as Git (version control)
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking protocols and sockets programming

Extra Credit
• Yocto
• CAN (Controller Area Network), SAE J1939 communications experience
• Experience working with Automotive, Agricultural, Construction, or Commercial Vehicle products
